Roque takes vow of silence

Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz has vowed not to make any further statements over his future with the Ewood Park club.

The 27-year-old Paraguay international has incurred the wrath of manager Sam Allardyce by speaking about his desire to move on several times this season.

However, Santa Cruz has now decided to hold his tongue.

He told reporters back in his homeland: "I am going to try to avoid any comment regarding my future.

"Besides anything that I can say, it's a decision of the officials of Blackburn. I have always been professional with the team.

"What I say in Spanish then is misquoted when it is translated to English, so I don't want to talk any more about my future."

Santa Cruz has scored 29 goals in 70 appearances for Rovers since joining from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2007.
