Roque sets sights on return
26 Mar 2009 - 11:38:32
Striker Roque Santa Cruz is confident of being fit in time for Blackburn Rovers' next Premier League game.
The Paraguay international has missed the last three games with a tendinitis problem in his knee.
The six-goal striker is now hoping the two-week international break - when he was overlooked for duty - will allow him to return to full fitness ahead of the visit of Tottenham on April 4.
"It is going better, I have been working hard in the gym to get the strength back to the leg and I have been playing a lot with pain in my knees," said Santa Cruz.
"Now that is getting really good and hopefully I can get back to 100 per cent in the next game.
"The idea is to be fit for the Tottenham game. That is why I have not been involved and why me, the club and Paraguay decided not to travel to the international games so I can concentrate on the rehabilitation."
