Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts has admitted that he does not want the season to end after finally returning to action and goalscoring form.
The 29-year-old former West Brom and Wigan Athletic forward has endured an injury-ravaged campaign but has started Rovers' last four matches, and his brace against Charlton Athletic brought his goal tally in those games to four.
"It's been frustrating up to this point, but I'll continue to work hard and show what I can do from now until the end of the season," he told Blackburn's official website.
"It's been hard work coming back from injury and it's been hard to get back to the levels you want to be at, but I've got there now and I feel really good about my game and I wish it was earlier in the season.
"We knew that Charlton would push on in the last 30 minutes and we kept plugging away and eventually the chances were created.
"We were opening them up quite well and we were disappointed not to go in ahead at half-time but we managed to dig it out at the end.
"We made it hard for ourselves but we managed to finish the game off.
"There was a time when I thought I wouldn't be playing as much football this season, so I just want to grab this chance with both hands and give everything I've got for the next three games."
