Blackburn Rovers striker Maceo Rigters has rejected suggestions that he is seeking a loan move away from Ewood Park to gain regular first-team action.
The 23-year-old Dutchman has made just one start for Rovers since his summer arrival from NAC Breda and had been quoted as saying he wanted a temporary move elsewhere.
However, Rigters later told the Dutch media: "Did I say that? No, I never said such a thing. I am happy to stay here and fight for my chance.
"Regarding my development, we'll see how it goes, but I am not thinking about leaving.
"Manager Mark Hughes has said he has faith in me and I could possibly be in the squad for this weekend's game."
Rovers chairman John Williams added in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "I know Mark is very happy with him and he's happy at the club.
"But if it was felt that it was in the best interests of the player's development then we may consider it."
Rigters had previously been quoted as saying: "Mark Hughes told me that I have simply been unlucky and that the other strikers are doing so well. So who knows? I might be playing games in a couple of weeks.
"If that is not the case I want to see the club loan me out as soon as possible, but I am not thinking about that yet."
