Reid continues comeback
06 Nov 2007 - 14:38:56
Blackburn midfielder Steven Reid will step up his comeback from injury by playing for the reserves against Manchester City's second string on Tuesday evening.
The 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international has not played a first-team game since August 2006 but has featured in a recent reserve team match and two behind-closed-doors friendlies.
He was originally sidelined by a back problem but suffered a cruciate ligament injuy in training ten months ago.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock thought Rovers should have beaten the Reds at the weekend.
Blackburn had to settle for a point after the Ewod Park ecnounter ended goalless, to Warnock's disappointment.
He told the club's official website: "It's the first time I've played them since I left the club.
"It was quite a nerve-wracking thing to play against your former club but I really enjoyed it and I'm a little bit disappointed that we didn't come away with the three points.
"A couple of years ago we'd have been delighted to get a draw, and it shows how far we've come that we feel we should be beating these types of teams."
