Blackburn Rovers and Aston Villa look set to go head-to-head in a bid to sign Nikola Zigic after the striker was told he is free to leave Valencia on loan.
The towering Serbia international has been linked with both clubs throughout the summer after a disappointing first season with Valencia.
The 27-year-old has found the net just five times following his £10million move from Racing Santander 12 months ago and Valencia are willing to let him head out on loan.
Zigic is reported to be interesting both Rovers boss Paul Ince and Villa counterpart Martin O'Neill with his physical presence an attractive proposition for the Premier League.
"We have offered the chance to go on loan to any of the interested English clubs," revealed the Spanish club's vice president Fernando Gomez.
"I expect a decision in a few days."
