Pedersen shrugs off incident

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen will not complain to UEFA despite having beer thrown over him by a Feyenoord fan during Thursday's goalless draw in Rotterdam.

Pedersen was targeted by a plastic cup thrown from the stands in the first half of the UEFA Cup clash, but the Norway international has shrugged off the incident.

"I got beer in my face and had sticky eyes afterwards," he said. "It could have been worse but it should not happen.

"Of course you think what might have happened if it was something else, like a hard thing, but it was just plastic."

When asked if he would be making an official complaint, Pedersen added: "It is up to them (UEFA) if they follow it up or not.

"But I am okay. There are no marks on me, just a bit of beer in my eyes."
