Blackburn Rovers winger Morten Gamst Pedersen is hoping to earn a new contract with the Ewood Park club, following reports of a big-money approach from Arsenal.
The 25-year-old Norway international has been with Rovers for just over three years and has been linked with all of the Premier League's big boys during his time in England.
Gamst Pedersen told VG: "If Blackburn want to pay me more, it means they appreciate my contribution to the team.
"I don't go around thinking of money. Money means a lot in this world, but not everything."
Blackburn boss Mark Hughes had earlier played down talk linking his player with a switch to the Gunners, telling The Sun: "He isn't going anywhere and particularly not for £8million considering the price of players now.
"We've heard nothing from Arsenal and, in the week leading up to the game, possibly someone has been a little bit naughty.
"It isn't based on any fact. We're not interested in selling Morten."
