Blackburn Rovers defender Andre Ooijer is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious leg injury in the 3-0 victory at Manchester City.
The 32-year-old Holland international was injured in a collision with Citizens striker Bernardo Corradi ten minutes before half-time at Eastlands, with latest reports suggesting he has suffered a broken leg and ankle ligament damage.
Rovers boss Mark Hughes commented: "It is a shame for Andre because he has been playing very well for us, but hopefully the result will cheer him up.
"We will have to have a look at it, but it is too early to digest the consequences of the injury.
"However, given that performance, I don't think we have to bring too many players in."
Meanwhile, Hughes is still hoping to tie up the signing of Liverpool's Stephen Warnock, before allowing Lucas Neill to complete his transfer to West Ham United.
"We allowed Lucas to go down and speak to West Ham and he had a medical while he was down there," Hughes added.
"We are not going to let Lucas leave unless we get a replacement and nothing as yet has been agreed."
