Olsson admits to penalty fortune
29 Mar 2010 - 15:41:21
Blackburn Rovers star Martin Olsson has admitted his side were fortunate to be awarded a penalty in their 1-0 derby success against Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
Referee Mike Dean awarded the spot kick after Olsson was adjudged to have been felled by Clarets goalkeeper Brian Jensen at Turf Moor.
David Dunn converted the penalty in the 20th minute to secure all three points to heap further misery on the relegation-threatened outfit.
Manager Sam Allardyce admitted they were lucky to receive the dubious award but he heaped praise on the 21-year-old for his all-round display.
Olsson said: "I thought that I was going to get a yellow card.
"I saw that he (Jensen) stuck his foot out, but I might have overacted a little. When the referee blew I thought he was going to give me a yellow card, but it's up to the referee in that situation.
"I am in good form but of course it's always nice to get some praise. It's good to hear for your self confidence."
