North End swoop to bring in Treacy
The 21-year-old, who spent four months at Sheffield United in the first half of the season, has penned a two-and-a-half-year contract with an option for a third year. Treacy goes straight into North End's squad for the visit of Barnsley on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, first-year professionals Tom Smyth and Philip Quirk have been released from Deepdale. The defensive duo were signed on one-year deals last season after progressing through the youth ranks but have failed to break through into the first-team squad.
