Boss Sam Allardyce felt that his Blackburn Rovers side had missed an opportunity to take points off league leaders Chelsea, after the visitors left Ewood Park with a 2-1 victory.
A Branislav Ivanovic header six minutes from time proved to be decisive, after the home side had missed a number of chances to take the lead themselves.
Allardyce told his club's official website: "There is no doubt that we deserved something out of the game, I think everybody here knows that, but that is why Chelsea are top of the league.
"We had them on the back foot for long periods of time, created lots and lots of chances.
"But while we played exceptionally well and scored a quality goal to go in front, we've then lost the game to two quality finishes by Chelsea from very few chances.
"That is the difference, if you look at our chances in the game, they've come and gone. Had we got a second goal then when we were on top it could have been a different story for Chelsea.
"We've had the opportunity to win it and we haven't and instead of drawing it we've ended up losing it.
"That sums up why Chelsea are at the top of the league and we at the moment are struggling for points at the bottom."
