Magpies join Neill race

Newcastle United boss Glenn Roeder is rumoured to be lining up a January bid for Blackburn Rovers full-back Lucas Neill.
Roeder is desperate to strengthen his error-prone defence, with a new left-back his top priority.
Neill is out of contract at the end of the season and is keen to leave Ewood Park, despite being offered a lucrative new deal by Rovers.
Should Newcastle make a firm offer for the Australian World Cup star, they will face strong competition from Liverpool for his signature.
Reds manager Rafael Benitez had a deadline day bid for the 28-year-old rejected, but remains keen to add him to his squad.
