Kean Fully Supports Andrews
Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is fully backing Keith Andrews to come good after recent unrest his performances have been causing among the fans. Andrew had another poor game on Saturday and it wasn’t helped by the fact that he gave away a penalty after the ball was taken from him and then he pulled down Ashley Young. That sent Villa on their way to a 4-1 victory. It also means that Rovers have not won in five attempts. Kean knows that the fans are unhappy with the player who made the step up from the lower leagues after Paul Ince signed him from MK Dons. But he is standing right behind the Irish international. Kean told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Keith is gutted about the penalty but he’s the type of player who holds his hands up. "He made a mistake but everyone makes mistakes on the pitch. "Of course we will support him. Keith's a great lad, he's a good player, he's an international player. "It's just one of those things. Everyone makes mistakes, unfortunately for him in this instance it led to a penalty. "But he's big enough, old enough and experienced enough to not let that affect him. "I think any fan is allowed their opinion on players, you've got your favourite players and you've got players you don't like as much as the others. "That's just football. "Hopefully they will all help him. Our fans are fantastic, they get behind the team. "I know we didn't give them a lot to shout about on Saturday but hopefully the travelling fans at Fulham will see a better result and then we'll look forward to the Blackpool game - they've been fantastic at home in every single game this year. "The penalty that came on Saturday, it was unfortunate that Keith made a mistake, but he will bounce back from that. "He won’t have a problem."
