    Jeffers happy at Rovers

    11 Oct 2006 - 11:14:54

Blackburn Rovers striker Francis Jeffers insists he is enjoying life at Ewood Park despite his lack of first-team starts.

The 25-year-old's career has stalled in recent years since he left Everton in 2001 and he has endured disappointing spells with Arsenal, Charlton and Rangers.

However, he is hoping to revive his career at Rovers although he has failed to score in his five appearances for Mark Hughes' side this term.

But he told Sky Sports News: "I'm probably playing the best I have for a couple of years or so. I'm getting there.

"It was going to take time as I missed the whole of last season, pre-season was good for me and I feel like I'm getting better.

"If you do well you stay in the team, that's the way I've seen it here and it's good. That probably wasn't the case at Arsenal, as there were always world-class players ready to come in and take your place.

"I enjoyed it at Arsenal, don't get me wrong. I made the decision at the time as I went to win medals and I won two FA Cups with them and I played my part in helping them win the league.

"A goal is all I need, but it doesn't worry me as I know it will come. Wherever I've played, I've always nicked goals."
