Jacket Unhappy With Penalty Decision

Kenny Jackett watched his Millwall side beaten at home by Blackburn Rovers and then said the defeat was down to the referee Gavin Ward.

Millwall looked like they were going to settle for a point with the score at 1-1 and neither club wanting to lose the game at the Den last night.

Ward ruled that Danny Shittu tripped Grant Hanley in the box as the Blackburn man burst into the area and the ref pointed to the spot, but the Millwall players were not at all happy and after a lot of feet stamping an tantrums the decision remained the same and Jordan Rhodes fired home to give Rovers the points.

An unhappy Jackett told reporters after the game: "That decision has cost us. I've just seen it again and it looked like a soft decision, in my opinion the referee got it wrong, it didn't look like there was any contact.

"I was looking for the refereeing team to make the right call as it looked soft at the time, and having seen it again it was."

Shittu's protests at the final whistle earned him a red card and Jackett added:

"Danny's very upset but I have to back my player. "He's a passionate man and he felt very passionately that there was no contact. Unfortunately it was a second yellow which we cannot appeal."
