Ince eyes two more signings
04 Aug 2008 - 14:47:21
Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince is keen to make at least two more signings before the new Premier League season starts later this month.
Only Paul Robinson and Carlos Villanueva have been snapped up this summer while Brad Friedel and David Bentley have left Ewood Park since the end of last term.
Ince said: "There's a couple of targets we're looking at and, hopefully, they'll come through the door within the next fortnight.
"We've brought Carlos in and that's a good thing. We were getting a little bit worried about that because I think a few clubs were looking to hijack the deal.
"We're now looking forward to seeing him train and play."
Ghana international Anthony Annan is one player being linked with Rovers. The 22-year-old is currently with IK Start and the Norwegian club's sporting director, Svein Mathisen, claimed: "It isn't an ordinary trial he'll have at Blackburn.
"Blackburn just want to confirm what they've already seen. It's bad to see a quality player leave Norway but, for our part, it's a matter of finances."
