Hull and Blackburn fight Russians for 15m Real Madrid striker Negredo

Hull City and Blackburn Rovers have both reportedly matched Real Madrid's £15million asking price for striker Alvaro Negredo. The 23-year-old's agent also insists that his client has not ruled out a move to Zenit St Petersburg, who are understood to have offered the player a hefty £60,000 a week. The representative Alejandro Camano has confirmed talks with Hull chairman Phil Duffen and has also been talking to Roma, but Madrid are not keen on the loan deal that the Italians are offering. The La Liga giants sold theplayer to Almeria last summer but brought him back on a buy-back optionfor £4.25m purely with objective of selling him on at a higher priceand offered him to Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool earlier this summer. Madrid would like a similar buy-back option when they sell him on and are keen to see how he adjusts to English football after rejecting approaches from Sevilla and Villarreal. On talks with Duffen, Camano toldthe Hull Daily Mail: 'I have had calls with the chairman. He (Negredo)likes the team and it's possible he will play in the Premier League. The chairman is a good man but the deal is not totally 100 per cent yet.' Negredo is thought to be concerned that Hull could struggle in the Premier League this season and Camano said: 'I spoke with the Roma management, and the Giallorossi would be an ideal club for my client. 'However, this does not mean that he is close to Roma. Things can change very quickly in football. 'It is true that the player is also sought after in England, but the only certain thing right now is that he is a Real player and anything can happen. Zenit? It is a possibility.' Blackburn have signed strikers Nikola Kalinic from Hadjuk Split and Franco di Santo on loan from Chelsea but still have money to spend after raising £21m from the sales of Roque Santa Cruz and Matt Derbyshire to Manchester City and Olympiakos respectively.
