Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes claims a UEFA Cup spot is still on the cards following Wednesday's 3-1 victory over Watford at Ewood Park.
Rovers moved up to tenth place in the Premiership table following goals by Christopher Samba, Jason Roberts and Benni McCarthy.
Hughes' side are now six points adrift of Portsmouth in the final European qualification position but have an extra game in hand on seventh-placed Pompey.
"We can get a place in Europe even though some people might not think so," claimed the Rovers chief.
"We have games against teams we can beat while our rivals have some difficult matches.
"Our run-in is decent and we can take confidence from this display.
"We were excellent, especially in the first half. We created a lot of chances and they were good goals."
Hughes was also delighted with the manner of the performance following Sunday's demoralising FA Cup semi-final defeat by Chelsea in extra-time.
"I am just delighted at the way we have bounced back from that defeat by Chelsea," he added.
"We gave the squad Monday off and they came back in on Tuesday. The manner of the group was what I was looking for."
