Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes has played down speculation linking Morten Gamst Pedersen with Manchester United after claiming the Norwegian winger is happy at Ewood Park.
Pedersen has been linked with a summer switch to Old Trafford in recent newspaper stories.
United were preparing to activate a clause in the 25-year-old's contract which reportedly allows the left-sided midfielder to talk to another club if they offered £8million.
But Hughes has brushed off talk that the former Tromso wideman could leave Ewood Park by insisting he is happy with Rovers.
"There's always talk about my players," Hughes told Sky Sports News.
"I think I spent most of this pre-season fending off interest in my players because we'd had an exceptional season.
"I'm sure this pre-season we will have other offers for other players.
"The situation with Morten is, basically, that he signed a new contract and was very happy to do so.
"He knows this is the best place for him at this moment in time in his career.
"He's made that commitment, we've made a commitment to Morten, and both parties are happy with that decision."
Pedersen was signed by former Rovers boss Graeme Souness in 2004 and has gone on to make 112 appearances for the club.
