Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes has backed Aaron Mokoena to fill the boots of injured midfielder Robbie Savage.
Savage is unlikely to play again before mid-December having been sent for surgery on a knee injury picked up in last weekend's 2-1 victory over Tottenham.
But Hughes claims he has a more than capable deputy in the shape of the South Africa international.
"We've got a ready-made replacement in Aaron Mokoena, who, in fairness, can count himself a little unlucky to find himself out of the side when he did," said the Rovers chief.
"Aaron, we know, will never let us down. We can compensate more easily now than possibly we could in the past."
Meanwhile, Hughes has backed in-form Rovers to continue picking up points ahead of a tricky run of Premier League fixtures.
"We've got a difficult period," he continued.
"We're away at Portsmouth, Liverpool coming up very quickly at home and then Manchester United away again.
"We're enjoying it, we're playing well and we're winning games."
