Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes has confirmed that veteran midfielder Tugayis in talks about a one-year extension to his current deal, which expires in the summer.
The 36-year-old Turkish star has been a regular in the Rovers midfield since arriving at Ewood Park from Rangers almost six years ago and has enjoyed another good season.
Hughes is keen to keep Tugay for at least another 12 months, in part because of the serous injuries that Robbie Savage and Steven Reid have suffered this term.
"Tugay's agents have been in talks with our chairman John Williams," Hughes told the Daily Mirror.
"We'll see how it goes."
Tugay has scored ten goals in 196 starts and 31 appearances from the substitute's bench for the club.
