Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes is concerned that striker Jason Roberts may be forced to sit out Thursday's UEFA Cup first round first leg clash against Salzburg due to injury.
The former Wigan Athletic forward missed Saturday's goalless draw with Sheffield United because of a groin injury and Hughes thinks Thursday's match may come too soon for the 28-year-old.
"He pulled up sharply in training with the last kick of the session which was the frustration of it," Hughes told Rovers' official website.
"He hadn't felt anything and then had the last shot on goal and just tweaked his groin.
"It takes 48 hours or so for the injury to settle down, so we can have a proper look to see what kind of damage there is but certainly he's a doubt for Thursday."
Steven Reid also missed the Bramall Lane clash because of a back injury, but Hughes is confident the Republic of Ireland international will make the trip to Austria.
"He's had the injury for a little while now, but he's trained for the last two days reasonably well so we're reasonably hopeful that he'll be okay," Hughes added.
