Reports suggest that Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes has agreed a new contract that will see him remain at Ewood Park until June 2010.
The former Wales boss had been linked with the vacant England post, but the Lancashire Evening Telegraph is reporting that Hughes has pledged his immediate future to Rovers.
A club source is quoted in the newspaper as saying: "This is fantastic news, both for the club and for Mark.
"Several rounds of talks have taken place over the last few weeks and we're delighted to have reached an agreement, which is a sign of intent on the part of both parties."
Hughes replaced former boss Graeme Souness in the Ewood Park hot-seat in September 2004 and has guided the club to successive top-ten finishes in the last two seasons.
This term Rovers are currently seventh in the Premier League table after losing only two of their opening 12 matches.
