Hill happy at lack of interest

30 Jan 2009 - 11:42:19

Rochdale manager Keith Hill has spoken of his delight at the lack of enquiries for his young stars, who it was thought may have attracted interest from bigger clubs.

Hill also revealed to the club's official website that he is hoping to bring in some new bodies before the end of the transfer window, but will continue looking for loan signings throughout the coming weeks.

"We've had no enquiries, thank God. To be honest the economic climate has had an effect on our industry and certainly at our level no one is spending money on players," he said.

"I certainly do not want to sell any of our players. As a whole we're really happy with our squad and not only want to keep it together but nurture the young talent that we have here.

"If we can keep Frank Fielding and Nicky Adams for a little longer they will really help to make us a better side.

"We are always looking to improve what we have though and have had a couple of knock-backs as regards bringing players in on a permanent basis but even after Monday we will still be able to use the loan market."
