Henchoz's red-card appeal

Blackburn Rovers have appealed against Stephane Henchoz's controversial red card in Saturday's 3-1 home defeat to Newcastle United.
The Swiss defender was dismissed when he hauled down Obafemi Martins and, although the incident occurred near the touchline, referee Dermot Gallagher ruled that Henchoz had denied an obvious goalscoring opportunity.
Rovers boss Mark Hughes was unimpressed by the decision, saying after the match: "At worst it's a foul, but certainly not a sending-off offence.
"He's won the initial header and then just fallen on him. He wasn't last man and he was 40 yards away from goal. We will absolutely appeal it.
"We're not going to make excuses, but there's been big decisions that haven't gone for us, which have had a direct impact on the result of the game."
The claim will be heard by a Disciplinary Commission on Tuesday.
