Fulham 3-0 Blackburn

25 Nov 2009 - 21:56:20

Fulham recovered from a dire early spell to beat Blackburn convincingly. The visitors dominated for 40 minutes but paid for some weak finishing when Erik Nevland exchanged passes with Damien Duff before slotting home.
That goal energised Fulham, Blackburn old boy Duff providing another assist for Clint Dempsey to finish off.
The American was on hand to complete the scoring after Simon Davies's cross found him unmarked, with Blackburn by then desperately chasing the game.

Gerrard is the real spirit of Liverpool. He is a TEAM LEADER and the heart of TEAM SPIRIT. His presence could make other team member believe that they are the best. Look closely what he did after he scored the first goal for Liverpool at Istanbul 2005. Kaka, Ronaldo and Messi all are good player but they don't have the charisma of Gerrad. Go on Gerrad, you'll never Walk Alone!!

Gerrard is the most brilliant midfielder in the world, and you can never compare it with any other midfielder of today... Gerrard you are the great one and there is no one who can stop you from collecting the best midfielder of the year 2008. Good job keep it up!

Its true players like Ronaldo, Messi and Kaka will always capture our imaginations through pure skill , grace and brilliance however some players have a much rarer quality sometimes undefinable yet always more empowering with a mixture of charisma, presence, timing, luck, and one such man who possesses this aura is the captain of England "GERRARD".

and what has ronaldo done internationaly.. comments in the article may mention goals scored but that has nothing to do with strike rate. on ability alone he is def one of the midfielder in the world. "only 2 or 3 players" could could such goals..thats true cos he does it on a regular.

Gerrard is nowhere near the best Midfielder in the world. He has not done anything in International football, and a good strike rate does not necessarily mean you are one of Europe's Elite players. Frank Lampard has a very similar strike rate also, but neither can compare to players like Ronaldo, Messi or Kaka.

To choose the best midfielder in the world you have to look only at one aspect. Which player has most regularly has\had the most impact in high level games. For me the choice is simple and its Stevie G. Players like Kaka, Ronaldo and Messi are amazing at what they do (attacking) and the style they do it in but so is Steven Gerrard even if he doesn’t need to waste energy crossing his legs while squatting and belting down the wings doing tricks or diving to the ground in (imaginary) agony when given a hard eyeball stare by the opposition. He attacks with a different type of style, one which you can't learn to play. With honor, courage, charisma, character, morality yet deadly weighted passes with alien like vision. Or scoring impossible 30yrd goals on a regular basis which only a handful of players manage to score one like it in a season. Just look at his 100'th goal (as a midfielder that is an awesome achievement). Not only is he so amazing at attacking but if he played as a central defender he would probably hold out better than most Premier league defenders. In midfield he just outclasses everybody in effectiveness, clinical passes to recovering the ball from opponents. As a Captain: what can I say other than Marvel. The whole team respects him and takes confidence from him. If the rest of the teams not performing he is the man any team would want to inspire and go grab a win from nothing. Man Utd fans spent a lot of years with a great captain and midfielder in Roy Keane but even he was nowhere near Gerrard in terms of all the above. Don't get me wrong Keane was a great inspirational player but not as much as Stevie G. BEST MIDFIELDER ON THE PLANET OVER LAST 3 YEARS AWARD GOES TO : Steven Gerrard. Best acrobatic flair for diving to the ground to cheat the ref into awarding a foul goes to : Christiano "untied shoelaces" Ronaldo
