Dunn tips Rovers duo to stay
22 Aug 2008 - 16:14:09
Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Dunn believes Roque Santa Cruz and Benni McCarthy will both remain at Ewood Park.
The two strikers have been linked with summer moves away from the Lancashire club with Santa Cruz in particular demand.
The Paraguay international was the subject of a failed £12million approach from Manchester City last week.
Newly-installed Rovers boss Paul Ince has already claimed no more players will be leaving Ewood Park before the transfer window closes.
David Bentley has joined Spurs and Brad Friedel has left for Aston Villa already this summer.
But now Dunn has back his manager's stance after claiming that he believes neither McCarthy or Santa Cruz will be on their way out of the club this month.
"As a Blackburn fan, it would be a tragedy if they left," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"Roque is a tremendous player, as is Benni, and we're a club that's trying to achieve things ourselves.
"You could bid £30million for Roque and I'm sure they still wouldn't let him go in my opinion.
"You couldn't let Brad Friedel, David Bentley and Santa Cruz go in the same season.
"There is no way the club would let that happen."
