Dunn's my Gerrard - Allardyce
Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce believes midfielder David Dunn is turning into Rovers' very own version of Steven Gerrard - and urged him to take the lead in lifting them back up the Barclays Premier League table. Dunn starred in his club's first league win of the season, a 3-1 victory over Wolves at Ewood Park on Saturday. The result was just what Rovers needed after a difficult start to the season with just one goal in their first three games, and Allardyce insists Dunn retaining top form is essential for the revival to take shape. Allardyce said: "David's skill and talent is what we need on a weekly basis. I think we've found a position for him that will cause lots of problems. We have four strikers with David taking up a Steven Gerrard role. "David has blossomed into one hell of a creative player with two goals from three games. He's opening up defences. The flair players like David and (El-Hadji) Diouf make a big difference when they use their skills in the right areas."
