Dunn keen on Rovers return

20 Dec 2006 - 12:32:55

Birmingham City midfielder David Dunn has admitted that he would love to return to Blackburn Rovers.

Dunn has endured an injury-ravaged spell at St Andrew's since moving to Steve Bruce's side from Rovers in 2003 and would welcome the chance to return to his hometown club.

"I'm a Blackburn fan and always have been so who knows, one day it might happen," he said. "Whether that comes sooner or later is down to the two clubs, whichever club it may be.

"I'd certainly have to consider it. All my family and friends are up there. The most important thing for me is my little girl who lives up in the north, and that would make it a lot easier for me to see her."

The 26-year-old has been restricted to only 54 starts for City in his spell with the club.

Meanwhile, Rovers boss Mark Hughes is reported to be close to finalising a deal to bring Dynamo Kiev defender Andriy Nesmachniy to Ewood Park.

The Ukrainian side's sporting director Leonid Buryak said: "Andriy left the club for England (on Tuesday morning).

"He will undergo a medical examination at Blackburn after which the club will decide whether to buy him or not."
