Dunn injury fears ease
12 Feb 2007 - 09:45:49
Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Dunn should be fit enough to feature in Wednesday's UEFA Cup clash at Bayer Leverkusen despite picking up an injury in the opening stages of the 1-0 defeat at Everton.
The 27-year-old was starting his first game since returning to Ewood Park last month from Birmingham City but had to limp out of the weekend action after only 15 minutes with a dead leg.
However, Rovers boss Mark Hughes has confirmed that the injury is not serious, saying: "It was a concern when he limped off but thankfully we think it's just a bang on the hip and it's a dead leg.
"It's very sore at the moment, and he wasn't able to continue as it affected his movement, but it should settle down and it shouldn't be a problem for him.
"He was desperate to have an impact, it was the perfect game for him to come back in too, but we're hopeful that it won't be an injury that will keep him out of any more games."
