Di Santo happy to stay at Rovers

    20 Oct 2009 - 11:20:49

On-loan striker Franco di Santo is happy to stay at Blackburn Rovers and continue his football education.

The 20-year-old Argentina frontman scored his first goal for the Ewood Park club during Sunday's 3-2 east Lancashire derby victory over Burnley.

Di Santo is on loan until January but has already started more games for Blackburn than he did during the previous 18 months at parent club Chelsea.

"I need to improve and gain experience," said the youngster. "I need to play games and score goals. If I got back to Chelsea I will try my best but, if I stay here, I will continue my education.

"It is good for me being at Blackburn. I am very happy to be here because the manager has given me the opportunity to play.

"That has given me the opportunity to improve and gain experience and I hope to get better and better over the next few games.

"I hope to get back to Chelsea and play. If I go back and don't play, it's less good for me. It depends on the situation.

"I feel I have proved I can play in the Premier League by coming here but I need to improve every game. I need more experience and now Blackburn have given me the opportunity to play more games."
