Defender ponders Rovers exit

Blackburn Rovers defender Zurab Khizanishvili has admitted that he may be forced to leave the club this summer in search of more regular first-team football.

The 27-year-old Georgia international had to settle for a place on the bench for much of the season just ended and Khizanishvili is concerned at that situation.

He told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "It has been a little bit frustrating because the football side of things has not been going as I hoped it might be.

"The season though is finished, so we will see what happens next season. There is no point talking about what happened in the past.

"I still have a two-year contract with Blackburn. It is up to them really, so all I can do is look forward.

"I don't know if I will still be here next season. All I can say is I have a contract so I am a Blackburn Rovers player.

"I want to play here, but that is my opinion, I don't know what the club are thinking so we will have to talk and see what happens from there.

"I still like it at Blackburn. I am not unhappy, I just wish I was playing a bit more."
