    Defeat leaves Ince anxious

    24 Nov 2008 - 07:37:12

Paul Ince has admitted he is concerned by Blackburn Rovers' form after Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Tottenham left them languishing in the bottom three.

Rovers were reduced to ten men following the first-half dismissal of Martin Olsson and slipped to a third defeat in succession at White Hart Lane.

Ince felt the decision to send off the young defender was harsh, but with Rovers now 19th in the table after being leapfrogged by Spurs, he is looking anxiously over his shoulder.

"It was a good battling performance against a good Tottenham side and we have to take heart from that," he said.

"But you've got to be concerned, especially when you've been playing well.

"I keep saying every week that the performances are good but we aren't getting any points.

"The more you keep losing, the more it is hard to get that win. But if you are playing well and the performances are good then you hope that you get that win.

"At the end of the day, the lads are devastated because they've played well and gave it their all.

"Every one of them has run their socks off and that is what it will take to get us up the league."

Meanwhile, Ince played down a tunnel bust-up with Tottenham coach Joe Jordan at half-time.

"Joe Jordan was talking to the referee about Andre Ooijer and Aaron Lennon, (saying) he kicked him two or three times," he continued.

"We'd already got a man sent off and he's trying to get another sent off.

"It's part and parcel of football, it's a heated game and we all want to win."
