Davies deal dead - Allardyce

Published: 29 Jun 2009 - 08:49:00

Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce has indicated he will not be pursuing his interest in Bolton striker Kevin Davies. Allardyce is keen to bolster his attacking options after the departures of Roque Santa Cruz and Matt Derbyshire. Allardyce knows all about Davies having worked with him at Bolton and it is understood they were prepared to pay £5million to secure his services. However Rovers were rebuffed when chairman John Williams made an enquiry about the 32-year-old. Allardyce said: "John told me Davies is not available and as far as I`m concerned that`s it."
