Brown to miss out

10 Oct 2006 - 09:39:54

Blackburn boss Mark Hughes is confident that Brad Friedel will be fit enough to return to action this weekend when Rovers play Liverpool at Anfield.

The USA international limped out of Rovers' last game against Wigan Atheltic with a groin injury and was replaced by Jason Brown at half-time.

Former Gillingham shot-stopper Brown saved a penalty as Blackburn beat the Latics 2-1 but he now looks set to return to the substitute's bench for Saturday's match.

"Brad felt a tweak when he was kicking the ball, so he couldn't have continued," said Hughes.

"But he's very hopeful of being fit for Liverpool, much to the disappointment of Jason."
