Blackburn Rovers v Hull City Live

Blackburn Rovers and Hull City meet at Ewood Park on Wednesday evening after enduring mixed fortunes at the weekend.Sam Allardyce's Rovers side were comprehensively beaten 3-0 at Tony Pulis' Stoke City and Christopher Samba received his marching orders late on in the contest.Despite the setback, the Lancashire side sit in mid-table and are a healthy seven points ahead of the relegation places.Meanwhile, Phil Brown's Tigers showed their fighting qualities as they secured a fine win over big-spending Manchester City at the KC Stadium.Jozy Altidore opened the scoring before George Boateng slammed in a second. Although Emmanuel Adebayor reduced the deficit, the hosts held on for a stunning success to push them up to 14th place in the table.Statistically, three of the last four meetings between the two sides have ended in draws but the Tigers have failed to win in 17 Premier League away games, picking up just four draws from their 12 matches this term.To make matters worse, they have failed to score in six of their last eight away-days.Blackburn have succumbed just once in their last 11 home fixtures - against Tottenham Hotspur - as their Ewood Park record continues to flourish.Hull have only lost one of their last six league games but the weekend win over City is their only success in that spell. The visitors could welcome back a trio of first-team players who have been missing through injury. Geovanni (knee), Dean Marney (calf) and Kamel Ghilas (thigh) are all nearing fitness.Top midfield man Jimmy Bullard is also closing in on a return as he steps up his recovery from the knee injury he picked up in the defeat against Aston Villa at the start of December.Lars Jacobsen and Vince Grella (both thigh) have almost shaken off their problems while midfielder David Dunn is close to a recall after a calf complaint.
