Blackburn boss Henning Berg says goalkeeper Jake Kean needed a game
Henning Berg says his decision to switch goalkeepers for Saturday's trip to Blackpool was simply to give Jake Kean an opportunity to play in the first team.
Although Blackburn were beaten 2-0 at Bloomfield Road, the Rovers boss said 21-year-old Kean was not at fault for either goal in what was his first League outing of the season. Regular keeper Paul Robinson was left on the bench and Berg told the club's website: "It was a tight decision, a tough decision, because Paul has played every game.
"At the same time we've not had the results we would have liked so I thought I would give Jake a chance this time.
"You have to expect that every player is ready when they get the chance and I think he did okay.
"He couldn't do much about their goals and apart from that he didn't have to make many saves, they hardly had a shot on goal apart from the two goals.
"He made one good save from a free-kick and he came for one cross but apart from that he wasn't troubled."
