Blackburn Rovers striker Benni McCarthy will not be risked in Thursday's UEFA Cup final qualifying round first leg encounter with Finnish side Mypa-47.
The South Africa international had to be stretchered off the pitch during Saturday's Premier League win at Middlesbrough after collapsing.
McCarthy sustained concussion and Rovers boss Mark Hughes is unwilling to bring him back too early.
The Blackburn boss told the club's official website: "Benni has been checked over once again after the injury that he had at the weekend.
"At the time it looked very worrying, but in fairness he was able to come back with us after the game and he's been in to be checked over again and he's okay.
"But the feeling is that the game against MyPa is too soon for him after the impact. He got a bang on the temple and it obviously shook him up.
"He's going to train hopefully towards the end of the week and as long as he comes through that then he'll be an option."
