Andrews extends Rovers deal

Blackburn Rovers' Republic of Ireland international midfielder Keith Andrews has put pen to paper on a new four-year contract at Ewood Park.

The 28-year-old joined Rovers a year ago from MK Dons and scored four goals in 35 appearances in his first campaign with Blackburn.

Andrews told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to be here and to commit myself for another four years.

"The chairman was very fair with me - when I signed he said that if I performed and got in the team and stayed in the team I would be rewarded and he's been true to his word."

"Last season went reasonably well from a personal point of view. I was delighted to make so many appearances first and foremost.

"To have played so many games last year was probably more than what I expected.

"I had things to prove to myself and I think I did that last year - at the highest level of football and on the international stage as well.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far, I've a manager here now that has been thoroughly fair with me and I really want to stay here and crack on."
