Allardyce acknowledges Holloway's achievements

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway's success with the Seasiders deserves to be ranked alongside any of the achievements of Sir Alex Ferguson or Jose Mourinho, according to Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce.Holloway, working on a shoestring budget, won promotion to the Barclays Premier League via the play-offs in his first year in charge.Having taken Leicester down to League One in his only season in charge at the Walkers Stadium and then spent 12 months out of work it was a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for the Bristolian.Allardyce, who tomorrow takes his side to face the club he managed in the mid-1990s, believes Holloway's work has not been appreciated as much as it should."He has been a good manager for many years," he said. "This is a major achievement and there are not many managers who have done what he has done and he should be very proud of his successes."When you look at what resources they have we don't give them the plaudits they deserve because they are a small, unfashionable club. But in terms of resources and finance it lies alongside anything Alex Ferguson or Jose Mourinho has done, in reality."
