Zenden set for Prem return

Sky Sports News understands that Boudewijn Zenden is in talks with Portsmouth and Blackburn. The experienced Dutchman has spent the last two years with Ligue 1 giants Marseille, but enjoyed six productive years in England before moving to France. He initially joined Chelsea in 2001, having begun his career at PSV Eindhoven and taken in a three-year stint at Barcelona. He was loaned to Middlesbrough for the 2003/04 campaign and joined the North East outfit on a permanent basis at the end of that agreement. Zenden was on the move again in 2005 as Premier League giants Liverpool swooped for his services. Two successful years on Merseyside followed, as Zenden helped the Reds to the 2007 UEFA Champions League final. He was a regular at Marseille during his time at Stade Velodrome, but left the club this summer as a free agent. The 33-year-old winger has publicly stated that he would favour a return to England, and could be about to get his wish. Both Blackburn and Portsmouth are desperate to add much-needed numbers to their squad and would welcome the opportunity to bring Zenden on board.
