Simon Jones is Sportsmail's man on the inside of all the major transfer moves this January. [LNB]His column, published every weekday, offers an insight into the deals which will be done and those that won't - and why. [LNB]A 5/5-rating means The Insider reckons it's a done deal; 0/5 means The Insider has his mortgage on it not happening.[LNB]Don't miss your daily Insider instalment here.[LNB] MARC JANKO FC Twente to BirminghamTHE INSIDER says: 1/5[LNB]EL HADJI DIOUFBlackburn to West HamTHE INSIDER says: 3/5[LNB] [LNB] The towering striker is no stranger to Sportsmail readers as he was widely courted last season while with Red Bull Salzburg. [LNB]The 27-year-old had an incredible record with the Austrian side, scoring 75 goals in 108 games, but the problem was that clubs were still unsure whether he could carry that form into a more competitive league. [LNB]He was available at various stages for between £3m and £7m but Birmingham, Stoke, Celtic and Fulham all decided to pass on the opportunity before FC Twente took the plunge. He is now top scorer in Holland and has 12 goals in the past 18 games including four in the 5-0 thrashing of Heracles this week. [LNB]The 6ft 5ins Austria captain is still keen to try his luck in England and Twente are open to offers as they struggle for funds. The valuation would be closer to £10m now though and that may mean the likes of Birmingham looking at summer moves instead.[LNB] Diouf's reputation often gets in the way of the fact that he can be a decent player when he puts his mind to it. Blackburn fans may argue that's not happened much of late but a fresh start may be the answer. [LNB]Blackburn have grown tired of defending Diouf over various outbursts and actions and are happy to let him go. [LNB]Manager Steve Kean says the player has showed a willingness to fight for his place but a move to West Ham is a strong possibility. He can strengthen their attack and if he is allowed to go for nothing they have little to lose. [LNB]Benni McCarthy has been mooted as a possible makeweight in the deal but Blackburn would want proof he is ready to work harder at his fitness. [LNB]That hasn't happened in his time at West Ham and may cost him another move to QPR for whom he scored in a trial match this week.[LNB]  PRINCE TAGOEHoffenheim to Stoke CityTHE INSIDER says: 3/5[LNB]PHIL NEVILLEEverton to TottenhamTHE INSIDER says: 2/5[LNB] [LNB] [LNB] The 24-year-old is available on loan from Hoffenheim, which makes him a valuable commodity in the remaining days of the transfer window. The 6ft 2ins striker is powerful and can play on the right wing utilising his excellent pace.[LNB]The big cloud over the Ghanaian is that he has had trouble over a heart defect in the past which prompted an initial cancellation of his contract with Hoffenheim. His lawyers fought for further tests and the Bundesliga later passed him fit to play. [LNB]He has been in good form but has grown frustrated at limited opportunities and is looking for a fresh start in the Premier League. He also has an excellent goalscoring record and that has alerted Stoke as they look to add more than just John Carew to their attack.[LNB] The Everton captain has been struggling for form since Tottenham's interest became known and the deal is not dead yet. Harry Redknapp has been keen on Neville for some time and wants to use his experience and organising skills to guide his relatively young side through their European campaign and title challenge. [LNB]Redknapp sees Neville as someone who can play comfortably at right-back or anchor the midfield while his attack minded side pour forward. Steven Pienaar's move though has made the deal difficult.[LNB] Everton are loathe to do any more business with Tottenham and particularly don't want to lose their captain. Neville is hoping for a conclusion to the interest over the weekend but Tottenham may have to offload Vedran Corluka first.[LNB] Don't miss your daily instalment of The Insider every weekday through the transfer window here at MailOnline. Club-by-club guide to every Premier League transfer deal during January[LNB] [LNB]  Explore more:People: John Carew, Benni McCarthy, Phil Neville, Harry Redknapp, Simon Jones, El Hadji Diouf Places: Birmingham, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Austria
