Warnock - We could go down
lackburn Rovers full-back Stephen Warnock insists Sam Allardyce's men are not too good to go down.[LNB] Although Rovers have improved under Allardyce, Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to Aston Villa sees them remain third from bottom in the table.[LNB]While Blackburn have a squad full of quality and experience the former Liverpool defender believes people are kidding themselves if they think the team are immune to the drop.[LNB]Warnock saw the likes of Joe Cole, Michael Carrick and Jermain Defoe suffer relegation with West Ham and think it would be criminal of Rovers to ignore the threat of relegation.[LNB]Table doesn't lie"We should be where we are because that is where we are. You are never too good to go down," he told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.[LNB]"You only have to look at the West Ham team that went down years ago with the likes of Cole, Carrick, Defoe. You can carry on through the list of players that went down. [LNB]"They were England internationals. Anyone who thinks you can be good enough not to go down is wrong. [LNB]"No one agrees with that at the club and we understand we are in a bad position. We know we should have won games but we haven't won games and that is why we are in this position." [LNB]Right mentalityWarnock believes having the right mentality is crucial as going out and playing with fear in your game will not be beneficial in their battle against the drop.[LNB]"When you go out on the pitch you can't be thinking we are in a relegation battle and if I make a mistake it is going to cost us such and such," he continued.[LNB]"You can't be nervous playing. You have to be confident in your own ability and the team's ability that we can get out of this. [LNB]"We looked at our last phase of games, the last six, and we did go on an unbeaten run but we feel we should have taken more victories. There were winnable games against teams in and around us and it is just disappointing. [LNB]"We know we are more than capable of winning games coming up."[LNB]
