Warnock: Reds connection in past

Stephen Warnock insists he will be doing all he can to dent Liverpool's title challenge when Blackburn travel to Anfield on Saturday. Warnock spent five years with the Reds before leaving for Rovers in January 2007 for £1.5million in search of regular first-team football. The 27-year-old still has close ties with the Merseysiders, but he insists there will be no old pals act when the pair go head-to-head in a crucial Premier League encounter. Liverpool are desperate for the win to pile the pressure back on Manchester United, while one-time Premier League champions Rovers are just five points clear of the drop zone. "My Liverpool connection is all in the past. I am just enjoying my football at Blackburn," explained Warnock. "I won't be thinking about it being Liverpool on Saturday - it is just like any other game for me now. "I don't care about what goes on in the title race to be honest because it is nothing to do with me. Of course I want them to be successful because I want friends who are at the club to win things. "But it is Blackburn I look out for now. We have a relegation battle on and I will be delighted if we win on Saturday."
