Treacy fears for Ireland future

Treacy, who has made 16 appearances for Rovers this season, was handed the Under-21s captaincy by Givens last August but has been frozen out since failing to report for a friendly against Lithuania in October.[LNB]Treacy insists his absence was simply down to a misunderstanding but Givens refused to accept the 20-year-old's apology and the winger does not expect to be given a reprieve.[LNB]He told the Irish Daily Star: "There were crossed wires somewhere along the line and I've been made out here as a bad boy. I rang Don when the squad for (February's) Germany game came out and apologised about the whole situation. [LNB]"That wasn't good enough for him - he told me he'd never play in his team again and put the phone down on me. [LNB]"I'm finding this very hard to take. Playing for my country means everything for me and I've been doing it since I was 14."[LNB][LNB]
