Rumours started about the Ireland manager on Monday which lead to reports of him applying for the Rovers post.
There was even an online betting site taken in by the rumours and installed him as a 20-1 shot for the job.
However, Trapattoni himself confirmed that the stories were just rubbish.
"I’m not even aware of it," he told reporters.
"It must be agent chit-chat. I’m not interested anyway. I’m concentrating on the job in hand."
