Blackburn boss Steve Kean has pleaded with Junior Hoilett to snub the likes of Tottenham and Newcastle and forge his reputation at Blackburn.

The 21-year-old Canadian's current deal expires at the end of the season, but Rovers have slapped a staggering ?18million price tag on the striker.

Kean and the club's Indian owners are desperate to keep hold of their star, and believe the huge fee will warn off potential suitors in the January transfer window.

How much? Junior Hoilett (centre) has an ?18m price tag on his head

And Kean has now urged the in-demand Hoilett to stay at Ewood Park and establish himself as a Premier League star before thinking about any move to a top club.

The Blackburn boss said: 'We are the best place for him to play every week before taking the next step up to the top.

'We can give him games where he is going to feature and be a match-winner.'
