Speculation on the Speculated

According to reports Monday was supposed to be the day for giving Henning Berg an interview for the manager's job at Ewood Park and Tuesday is Harry Redknapps turn.

Whether these reports are wide of the mark or not remains to be seen, there is so much speculation around at the moment.

Berg was of course with Rovers when they won the Premier League title and at 43, fits the bill as a younger manager that the club is supposed to be interested in and he was in charge of Lyn Oslo of the Norwegian league, Berg has also managed Lillestrom.

When at Ewood as a player, he also played his part captaining the side in the 2002 League Cup triumph.

At 65, Harry Redknapp does not fit the younger man's bill, but he is more than willing to hold talks with Rovers and the one time favourite for the England post would be a popular choice because of the way his sides play the game.

Ian Holloway is also a name on the list, but the powers that be are said to be split on the decision as to whether he could be the man.
