Sherwood favourite for Ewood post

Sky Bet have installed Tim Sherwood as the evens favourite in their next Blackburn Rovers manager betting following Steve Kean's resignation. The news comes as little surprise despite Rovers sitting third in the Championship table after seven games, with speculation surrounding his future failing to die down following the club's relegation from the Premier League last season. The online betting firm make former Rovers captain Sherwood, who is currently assistant first-team coach at Tottenham, the favourite to take the reins at Ewood Park, with club legend Alan Shearer the 6/1 second favourite. Sky Bet Football Trader Chris Spicer said: "Suggestions were already floating around in the media that Rovers were preparing to move for Sherwood and Kean's resignation obviously supports such rumours. "However, it remains to be seen whether he will be interested in the job given the turmoil at Ewood Park under the current ownership, while compensation would also be an issue with Sherwood given his role at Spurs."
